I remember sometime connected to the brand making a joke that it's an item very specifically designed for a guy named Kyle who likes to run shirtless, so can't you celebrate that finally there's something for men!?
Hi guys I’m Kyle/founder of Raide. I actually designed our belt not because of chafing but because I wanted to run further without using a vest and the belts on the market all bounced around when loaded with more than a phone. I don’t like how vests are hot and constrict your breathing. Nothing beats the feeling of freedom running far with nothing on your chest!
Great piece! I hadn’t heard of Mileoff yet. Looking forward to following more of Alice’s founder journey. I have a women’s Ultimate Direction vest (and handheld) that has held up well over the years.
And totally agreed on the Adidas fail of that walk on fit for Jess Pegula. She also seemed very uncomfortable wearing it which didn’t help the moment.
Wow I loooove this deep dive into the hydration vest.
The vest chafing is what led to the Raide belt. The dude likes to run long distance with his shirt off, so he fixed that for himself.
What a dude! That’s good insight. Though you know I am going to be annoying and ask how it fits people with wider hips/narrow waists. 😉

Justice for Kyle!

Yo Kyle! I just used that tiny tube of Raide toothpaste haha.

Love to hear what's working!
And 100% – I love seeing brands take big swings but if the athletes aren't fashion people it can feel forced.
